Work: Life, Health, and Accident Insurance...

This summer I have the pleasure of working for an amazing company, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network: The Beer Group, but there are a few prerequisites before I can work for them. First of all, I have to take a 52-hour course (all the way in Santa Ana, BTW) to learn all about Insurance and California's Department of Insurance Laws and all that good stuff. Then, I had to take (and PASS) the California Licensing exam. It is 150 multiple choice questions regarding 16 chapters of the Insurance book I had to buy for the course. Anyway... to make this otherwise lame boring interesting (to me) I PASSED!! I will be the person to explain the fine print to you! =]The image “http://www.floridaestateplanninglawyerblog.com/fineprint.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. I was so sure I wasn't going to pass because I hadn't studied as much as I would normally have but I passed. It was a HUGE mistake to schedule this Licensing exam in the middle of my finals, but eh... I got through it! =] YAY for me!! I am so excited to finally be able to not have to worry about the weekend classes or the exam anymore. Now, I'm off to make some money, or at least I hope to make some money...

That's a different story.

Fun: Santa Monica/Malibu Beaches!

So my beautiful cousins
^ (this is them) ^

decided to come and visit me this weekend in Malibu. I was so excited because it had been so long since we had hung out and we all needed to get away from being 'adults' for a while! We met up at Santa Monica, walked to the Pier and had dinner at MariaSol, a Mexican restaurant all the way at the end of the long pier (it was pretty good, but they took forever with our food/drinks and it was sorta expensive, but not too bad). Here is a picture of my cousins and I on the pier:
(Brenda, Me, & Cristina)

After having dinner and walking back to our cars (for-ever far away, by the way) we were all tired from driving all day so we decided to have an "early" night... little did we know we were going to end up talking for hours, spontaneously walking down to the beach, and not going to sleep until close to 1 am!!
(By the way, I had to wake up at 5:45 am the next morning to go to my weekend insurance classes)
Do you think I woke up??

Of course I did!! I am responsible, you know!
**So proud of myself**

Anyway, here are a couple of other pictures from that night:
(Notice the M & B for Maria & Baltazar!! =] Amazing, I know! lol)

I love these girls!^

It was such an amazing weekend and I am so grateful to have been blessed with such great cousins! Though we have been through some rough patches, our friendship has never ceased to exist and I am glad our good times are better than our bad!
Soooo much better!! =]

P.S. Here is a picture of Hubby and I on the Pier with the sun setting on the ocean!
Breathtaking, I know!

;)

Thanks for reading! Keep checking for more updates! =]

Cooking - Dessert: Yummy in Our Tummies!

About a week ago or so I was craving some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. On one of my shopping trips to the local Ralph's I ran into this:

It seemed like the perfect solution for my craving! Along with this ready-mix cookie powder stuff I bought some chocolate chips to finish my ideal cookie. Well, after going home that night and reading on other's sites about how they bake and what they've done recently, I found an amazing recipe for some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but much better than my powdered ones! They were from scratch!

Immediately, I made a shopping list and decided it was my mission as a new bride to make the best things that I can for Hubby! Not only the "just add water" kinds of things. Here are a few pictures of my adventure.

Home-made cookie dough ready to be baked!

Dirty dishes from mixing all of the ingredients.
(It was so hard to mix everything because I had to use a hand whisk since I left my mixer at my parent's house)

Some freshly baked cookies and some ready to go into the oven!

A fresh batch of cookies! Yummy-licious!

Also, here are some flowers my Hubby bought me just because he loves me! =]
**(swoon)**

Well, after making these absolutely delicious cookies, I had to take some to work and share. I mean, Hubby and I weren't about to eat all 45 of them!!
My boss had a few and all of my coworkers did too! I'm guessing they liked them because by the end of the day, they were all gone!!
My boss said I should just stay home and make cookies to sell and get rich!
(Yeah, like that would happen)

After having such an amazing experience with oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (from scratch) I decided I should try again, but maybe a different type of cookie?
Any suggestions?? =]

I love being a housewife that bakes and cooks yummy stuff!!

School: Pepperdine...

So I am trying to get the hang of posting in a blog... I will probably be posting many random things at first, just to get acquainted with the way these things work.

Anyway, today was one of the longest days ever! I left for school at 9:30 am and didn't get home until close to 10 pm! I felt so bad for Hubby since he gets off of work at 4:30 pm and we didn't get to see each other until forever later. Well, my day was especially long since I had a million things to do:

-Convocation/Chapel @ school: 10 am - 10:45 am
-Work: 11 am - 3:30 pm
-Tax Group Meeting: 3:30 - 4 pm
-Tax Class: 4 - 5:45 pm
-Tutoring: 6 - 9:15 pm!!! (9:[friggin']15 PM!!)
-Home with Hubby: 9:30 - 11 pm
-Sleep: 11 pm - 8 am

I guess it was an amazingly long day, but I shouldn't complain too much. I mean, I do go to school at the most beautiful campus in the nation, you be the judge! =]

P.S. I absolutely LOVE Hubby for being extra supportive during such stressful times! Thanks Poppa!

Fun: My First Post...

So, I am not promising I will keep up with this as of now but I will definitely try my best. I have been wanting to start a blog for a while and finally decided it was time!

Here's to a happy blog, and good times. *(cheers)*

I'm leaving you all with a picture of Hubby and I during our engagement shoot a few months ago! It was so much fun to do. Enjoy!

Have an amazing day everyone!
